"I Quit." Shopify Studios Premieres First Network Production on Discovery Channel Profiling the Exciting Journeys of Everyday Entrepreneurs

New series “I Quit,” produced by Shopify Studios and premiering Tuesday, August 18, at 10pm ET/PT on Discovery, chronicles a year in the lives of business owners who gave up their 9-5 jobs to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.

Today, we’re furthering our mission to inspire entrepreneurship through compelling content by announcing Shopify Studios’ new Discovery series “I Quit”. The series, premiering in North America August 18, will spotlight entrepreneurs with a behind-the-scenes look at the moment they decide to leave the security of their day jobs and go all in on their entrepreneurial endeavors.

The business-owners showcased in “I Quit” include: newlyweds diving full-time into their dress shirt company; a pair of dads launching an outdoor cooler business (with their families in tow); a couple taking big risks to follow their dream of owning a sports team; three best friends planning to launch a wine brand catered to Black women after seeing underrepresentation in the industry; parents looking to build a BBQ sauce empire; and the daughter of a Brazilian immigrant who leaves her Wall Street job to build a business on the beloved Brazilian truffle ‘brigaderios.’

Shopify’s very own chief operating officer, Harley Finkelstein, serves as one of three mentors who offer guidance to the new business owners along their journey. Debbie Sterling, CEO of award-winning multi-media company GoldieBlox, and Tricia Clarke-Stone, CEO of creative and tech agency WP Narrative_, join Harley in mentoring the show’s featured entrepreneurs.

With the cast of entrepreneurs self-documenting their trials, tribulations, and triumphs, viewers will be given a peek behind the curtain into the intense make-or-break moments and decision-making that business owners grapple with every day.

I QUIT is an original format created by Shopify Studios and Wheelhouse Entertainment’s Spoke Studios. It is produced for Discovery in the U.S. by Shopify Studios, Spoke Studios and ITV America.
