Shopify AR offers the tools to build augmented shopping experiences

Experimenting with new technology like augmented reality (AR) has often been reserved for industry titans. That’s why we’re excited to announce Shopify AR - a set of tools and services that make creating AR shopping experiences accessible for all of our merchants.

Rather than having to invest in developing specific apps for AR shopping, Shopify AR takes advantage of Apple’s AR Quick Look feature, which allows products to be previewed in AR directly from Safari on iOS devices.

With online shopping in AR getting simpler, merchants will be able to create best-in-class shopping experiences that more meaningfully bridge the gap between online and brick-and-mortar. And for customers, this means greater confidence in the size, scale, and detail of products when buying from the comfort of their own home.

Check out how some merchants are already taking the lead with Shopify AR, and look out for more to come in the future.
